      <image:caption>As part of a casual art club at my time at GMG I did the following piece for that fortnightly prompt… "Depict the golden age of piracy during the year 1674. Pirates fight on the high seas, pillaging and plundering the innocent and each other. Many fight with cutlasses and crude muzzle loaded firearms. Some are merciful and operate with honor, while others are vicious and slay ruthlessly. They often pillage places along shorelines., and spend their time drinking and eating while enjoying their various stolen goods. They carry themselves in rough condition, They rarely bathed and often suffered from skin diseases and other illnesses. Despite this, a successful pirate may have been adorned with their various jewellery and fabric bounties. Creating a harsh juxtaposition within their appearance." I decided to go with an Unreal scene for my piece using free Unreal Paragon assets ROLE: Set Dressing / Character Posing / Camera / Lighting / Post Process FX / and Rendering.</image:caption>

In this context I wanted to focus less on lighting and scene and more on story, so I used some free UE marketplace assets and did some basic camera and lighting work. The rest was in the rendering and story telling itself. I like writing, but don't get to do it often so thought I'd have a swing here. I like the idea of life returning to very limited locations on the planet after it was decimated, the same way humanity has returned, but with it, the need to control resources, and so the cycle begins again.       <image:caption>The goal of the project was creating a scene based on a defined universe. Rakuen de Senshi, or “Warrior in Paradise” is a piece that takes place in a dystopian future era. Software controls everything in this universe, and the most advanced programs share the power. The last of mankind, an organized group called A.L.I.V.E (Algorithmic Life Induction V-Engineers), uploaded some of the most important human minds they could preserve in selected machines to carry on the human legacy. Rakuen is one of those minds. He is considered a pariah and his actions are not understood by those in the system. He fights to locate and protect the last great minds while hunting human relics to trade with some of the underworld machines. This project is actually a piece that one of my students Javier Alaiz put together as a final project in thier bachelors degree. It is supposed to be team based so I was brought on with special consideration to act as a team member instead of a teacher for this student in this instance.       <image:caption>Grip is a single player, first person, exploration and puzzle game in which you assume the role of Avery, a teenager learning to control telekinetic abilities that are powered by their emotions. You must utilise Avery's abilities by moving objects such as boulders and logs to navigate the environment and find a way out of the forest canyon. Grip was designed to be a short gameplay experience and is able to be completed in under an hour.
